Headaches can come about by different reasons, for example non-optimal body condition like if you have tooth decay beacuse of wrong teeth or improper health nutrition, and some times headache has mental origin. But all in all, sometimes having a headache could put all your days activities to a halt. The throbbing can start from the upper side of the neck and then move towards the back of the head. The pressure being put on the head and neck can result in the muscles and blood vessels around the area tightening. This results in a severe pain that could last for hours or even days.

The major headache types can be stated as migraine headaches, tension headaches or the acute tension type headache, cluster headaches, chronic daily headaches, the ice pick also known as the ice cream headache, sinister headache, etc.
Someone or other we know would surely have experienced migraine headaches. From all the other headache types, this is one that would rarely be missed. More women tend to suffer from it than men. A person with a severe migraine headache could feel nauseated and have instances of vomiting. This would usually continue for the period of the headache, which ranges from around four hours to 3 days.
The acute tension headache is milder than migraine headaches. It is known to occur in almost half the population on a monthly basis. Another one of the major headache types is the chronic daily headache. This can occur around 10 to 15 days per month, over a six month period. Men seem to get this type of headache more than women.
The cluster headache is one of the rare headache types that a person could get. The patient with a cluster headache would usually experience a blocked or runny nose, in addition to having puffed up eyes.
The ice pick or the ice cream headache is very much different from the famous headache types we all know. The feelings of pain experienced from this headache is somewhat piercing and lasts only for a short period of time.
A sinister headache is quite dangerous. If you have passed your 30’s and find yourself getting headaches all the time, it is better to get a medical check-up done. Some patients suffer from increased cases of vomiting with the combination of migraine headaches lasting for days. Meningitis can be one reason if you suffer from headaches for more than 3 days.
