Developing an Acne Diet 101
Being on an acne diet is a very fascinating idea. We’ve all heard that chocolate gives you pimples. Just about everyone has. As a result, it does not seem so far-fetched that what you eat could prevent acne instead of cause it.

* Up your intake of protein - Many dermatologists are under the belief that protein is connected with clearer skin. Oil production is limited from an enzyme located within protein. Oily skin seems to be extremely prone to breakouts.
* Don’t eat carbs - You don’t have to completely cut carbs out. But you should try to limit your intake so that they are about 40 percent of your diet. This is because there are compounds in carbohydrates that can stimulate oil production. This is why so many people think that junk food causes acne. Actually, though, junk food is just high in carbs.
* Try to drink green tea - If possible, drink the real stuff. Brewing the green tea is the best way to drink it. However, if you can’t stand the stuff, then natural green tea drinks will do. Green tea will restrain the production of androgen. Breakouts have been known to be caused by a hormone called androgen.
* You must restrict the amount of salt you take in - Iodine is usually found in salt. This is the reason we usually call table salt “iodized salt.” Iodine is a major inflammatory agent in those with acne.
It is very important to watch what you eat and put on your face. If you have acne you are already aware of what ingredients are in your facial products. Look for oil-free moisturizers and natural or organic skin care lines. These are the least likely to irritate your skin. If you wear makeup you may want to consider switching over to mineral makeup. If you want to enhance your acne diet and reduce breakouts, you may want to try mineral makeup.
