A Married Couple Becomes Distraught About Their Irresponsible and Excessive Drinking and Questions Whether They Display Any Signs of Alcoholism

Jerry and Sarah have been married for four years. They wanted to have some fun and excitement before they decided to have a family and so they consciously established a super vibrant social life.

The main issue, however, is that nearly everything they do with their family and friends includes drinking. For instance, all of the dinner engagements, sporting events, happy hours, family get-togethers, and parties with friends they patronize somehow include drinking.

Sarah and Jerry Start to Observe Some Clearly Identifiable Alcohol Related Problems That Come From Their Irresponsible Drinking

If they were responsible or moderate drinkers, this wouldn’t be such a major problem. Given the fact that they drink in an irresponsible manner, however, they are beginning to take note of some noticeable alcohol-related problems in their lives.

As an illustration, just three days ago Jerry was arrested for a second DWI and has been taking time off from work because of alcohol-related health problems. What is more, Jerry’s last two or three performance appraisals at his place of employment have been less than average and he has begun to forget what he does or says the times that he drinks. As a final point, Jerry has been going through sleep-related problems and his family is starting to exhibit some uneasiness about his drinking behavior.

Similar to Jerry’s circumstances, Sarah has been feeling disheartened about life in general and to cope with this, she has been drinking more than any time in the past nine months. In addition, Sarah has been experiencing quite a few migraine headaches and having very bad hangovers after drinking. Lastly, Sarah has been feeling notably less energetic when she awakens in the morning, she has been getting to work late at least once per week, and she has been getting some unsympathetic criticism from her family members, relatives, friends, and coworkers about her irresponsible drinking.

Watching the Television and Flipping the Channels and Finding A Remarkable Program About the Signs of Alcoholism

One Thursday evening while watching TV, Sarah and Jerry stumbled upon a TV special about the signs of alcoholism.

This television documentary was a real surprise to Jerry and Sarah because more than a few of the alcoholism signs that were listed gave them the impression that they were indisputably related to several of the alcohol-related drinking problems Sarah and Jerry had been experiencing.

A Candid Chat About Drinking Situations Exposes Alcohol Related Relationship, Health, Employment, Financial, and Legal Problems

After watching the TV documentary, Jerry and Sarah made up their minds to have an open talk about their drinking behavior. They both concurred that most, if not all, of their social activities were related to drinking, that they were drinking in an excessive manner, and that as a married couple, they were beginning to make note of alcohol related relationship, employment, legal, health, and financial problems for the first time in their lives.

With thoughts of the TV special still running through her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcoholism signs they have been manifesting could be an indication that they are dependent on alcohol or conceivably becoming addicted to alcohol. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s question and so he recommended that they schedule an appointment with one of the therapists at the nearby substance abuse treatment facility to find out more about the seriousness of their drinking circumstances.

Coming to Terms With Your Drinking Issues Just May Reduce Your Nervousness and Give You Some Tranquility

Paradoxically, although their drinking behavior hadn’t yet changed, it was plain to see that Sarah and Jerry were at the very least facing their drinking issues, they were excited about finding out more about their drinking situation, and they were concerned about how they could appreciably cut down the severity or eliminate the drinking-related difficulties that had started to emerge.

When Jerry and Sarah went to bed that night, they decided that the next day, Jerry would call and make an appointment for both of them at the alcohol abuse treatment facility located just North of the State Capital. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to defeat the drinking difficulties that had become apparent in their lives, they in point of fact had the most energizing night’s sleep they could recollect in the last three years.

Just before he fell asleep, Jerry turned to Sarah and commented how simple it is to lower one’s trepidation and truly experience some quietude by attending to one’s problems with personal integrity and coming to a decision to do something productive about them.
